General Guidelines

Technical Specifications

• Weight Capacity: 500 lbs. (227 kg)
• Construction: Extruded aluminum carrier. Formed steel hitch and hitch bracket. Carbon steel hard-
ware. Thermoplastic end caps.
• Vehicle Hitch Receiver Size: 2" (5cm) Vehicle hitch requires a Class III or Class IV tow rating.

Safety

Work Area
• Keep work area clean, free of clutter, and well-lit. Clutter and dark work areas can cause accidents.
• Keep children and bystanders a safe distance away while operating the cargo carrier.
• Be aware of any power lines, electrical circuits, water pipes, or other mechanical hazards in the
work area that may be unintentionally contacted and cause personal harm or property damage.
• Always be aware of your surroundings. Using the cargo carrier in a confined area may put you
dangerously close to cutting tools and rotating parts.
Personal Safety
• Stay alert and use common sense. Do not use the cargo carrier while you are tired or under the
influence of drugs, alcohol, or medication. Inattention may result in serious personal injury.
• Dress appropriately. Do not wear loose clothing, dangling objects, or jewelry that may be caught in
moving parts. Tie back long hair. Keep clothing, hair, and gloves away from moving parts.
• All persons in the work area should use appropriate safety apparel and equipment, including safety
goggles, dust masks, non-skid shoes, gloves, hearing protection, etc. when appropriate.

  • Page 4 Assembly Set up the carrier Your cargo carrier will require some light assembly prior to use. It is important that you read the entire manual to become familiar with the product BEFORE you assemble and use the cargo carrier. Before assembling and operating the cargo carrier, be sure that you have all parts described in the parts list and assembly diagram.
  • Page 5 Operation Load your cargo on the carrier. Then secure the load in place using appropriate tie-downs (sold sepa- rately). Do not exceed the 500 lb. weight capacity. Weight inside the carrier should be evenly distribut- WARNING: The load weight must be centered or evenly distributed across the carrier frame (8). Always use appropriate tie-down restraints to securely attach any cargo loaded on to the cargo car- rier before moving your vehicle any distance.
