    1. Einführung Sehr geehrte Kundin, sehr geehrter Kunde, wir bedanken uns für den Kauf dieses Produkts. Dieses Produkt entspricht den gesetzlichen, nationalen und europäischen Anforderungen. Um diesen Zustand zu erhalten und einen gefahrlosen Betrieb sicherzustellen, müssen Sie als Anwender diese Bedienungsanleitung beachten! Diese Bedienungsanleitung gehört zu diesem Produkt.

    Bei Nichtbeachtung bestehen diverse Gefahren; z.B. Verletzungsgefahr. 4. Produktbeschreibung Bei den Schiffsmodellen „Northern Light“ und „Borkum II“ handelt es sich um Modelle, die für Anfänger im Schiffsmodellbau ausgelegt sind. Diese Bedienungsanleitung ist eine kombinierte Bedienungsanleitung für die genannten Modelle. Im Lieferumfang befindet sich ein Schiffsmodell mit entsprechendem Zubehör. Für die Fertigstellung und den späteren Betrieb sind nur geringe Kenntnisse im Umgang mit Schiffsmodellen erforderlich.

    7. Batterie- und Akkuhinweise Obwohl der Umgang mit Batterien und Akkus im täglichen Leben heute eine Selbstverständlichkeit ist, bestehen zahlreiche Gefahren und Probleme. Beachten Sie deshalb unbedingt die nachfolgend genannten Informationen und Sicherheitshinweise zum Umgang mit Batterien und Akkus. • Batterien/Akkus gehören nicht in Kinderhände. Lassen Sie Batterien/Akkus nicht offen herumliegen, es besteht die Gefahr, dass diese von Kindern oder Haustieren verschluckt werden.

    8. Vorbereitungen zur Inbetriebnahme In dieser Anleitung werden die Schiffsmodelle „Northern Light“ und „Borkum II“ gemeinsam beschrieben. Achten sie auf die jeweiligen Abbildungen für das von Ihnen erworbene Modell. Beide Modelle werden betriebsfertig ausgeliefert. Zur Inbetriebnahme sind nur noch wenige Handgriffe zu erledigen. Bevor Sie das Modell in Betrieb nehmen, lesen Sie zuerst jeden einzelnen Abschnitt in Ruhe durch. Zum besseren Verständnis ist immer ein Bild beigefügt, das den beschriebenen Abschnitt darstellt.

    Empfangsantenne. e) Überprüfung der Schiffsschraube(n) Das Schiffsmodell „Northern Light“ verfügt über zwei Schiffsschrauben. Das Schiffsmodell „Borkum II“ verfügt über eine Schiffsschraube. Prüfen Sie die Schiffsschraube(n) und deren Kontermuttern vor jeder Fahrt auf festen Sitz und auf Beschädigungen. Beschädigte Schiffsschrauben müssen vor der Ausfahrt ausgewechselt werden. Bei Missachtung kann es vorkommen, dass sich die Schiffsschraube im Betrieb ungewollt löst oder auseinanderbricht.

    Prüfen Sie die Funktion „Vorwärtsfahrt“. Mit dem Gas-Hebel des Senders (Bild 8, Pos. A) können Sie stufenlos die Fahrgeschwindigkeit des Modells regeln. Je weiter Sie den Hebel zum Griff ziehen, umso schneller muss sich die Schiffsschraube drehen, umso schneller wird die Vorwärtsfahrt. Dreht sich die Schiffschraube nicht oder nicht richtig, so stecken Sie den Fahrakku wieder ab und suchen die Ursache hierfür.

    Ziehen Sie vorsichtig den Gas-Hebel in Richtung Griffstück der Fernsteuerung. Dass Modell beginnt die Vorwärtsfahrt. Wenn Sie das Steuerrad (Bild 8, Pos. B) der Fernsteuerung nach links oder rechts drehen, wird Ihr Modell eine entsprechende Kurve fahren. Die Fahrzeit beträgt je nach Fahrstil ca. 10 bis 12 Minuten. Bei voller Geschwindigkeit ist der Akku nach ca. 7 Minuten erschöpft. Beenden Sie rechtzeitig die Ausfahrt und fahren an das Ufer. Öffnen Sie die Kabinenhaube und schalten Sie den Schalter (Bild 6, 7, Pos. A) auf die Stellung „OFF“. Stecken Sie den Fahrakku ab und schalten Sie erst dann den Sender aus.

    10. Wartung und Pflege Überprüfen Sie in regelmäßigen Abständen den Antrieb und die Steuerfunktionen der Elektronik an Ihrem Modell. Alle beweglichen Teile müssen sich leichtgängig bewegen lassen, dürfen aber kein Spiel in der Lagerung aufweisen. Äußerlich darf das Modell nur mit einem weichen, angefeuchteten Tuch gereinigt werden. Verwenden Sie auf keinen Fall aggressive Reinigungsmittel oder chemische Lösungen, da sonst die Oberflächen beschädigt werden können.

    4. Product description The "Northern Light" and "Borkum II" models are suitable for beginners. These instructions are designed for both models. Each model comes with a number of accessories. Only a small amount of prior knowledge in the handling of model ships is required to assemble and operate this model.

    • Do not unplug the charger from the mains socket by pulling on the cable. Always hold it on the sides of the casing. • Keep the power adapter away from sources of moisture. If the power adapter gets wet or damp, or there are signs of damage, discontinue use immediately.

    d) During operation • Do not take any risks when using the product! Your own safety and that of your surroundings depends on your responsible handling of the model. • Improper use can cause serious injury and damage to property! Always ensure that the ship is kept away from people, animals and objects during use. • Only use the ship when the canopy, masts and hatch covers are attached. All holes on the deck must be covered to prevent splashing water from entering the boat and damaging the components.

    7. Battery safety information Batteries present numerous safety hazards. For this reason, always observe the following safety information when handling batteries. • Keep batteries out of the reach of children. Do not leave batteries lying around, as they could be swallowed by children or pets.

    8. Setup These instructions apply to both the "Northern Light" and "Borkum II" models. Refer to the images for your model. Only a few steps are required to prepare the ship for first use. Read each section carefully before using the ship for the first time. An image is provided in each section for better understanding. Please note that the numbers or letters in the text always refer to the components in the right-hand image. Only commence work when you have read the instructions and know how to assemble the parts correctly.

    Checking the propeller(s) The "Northern Light" model has two propellers. The "Borkum II" model has one propeller. Before using the ship, check that the propeller(s) and their locknuts for any signs of damage and ensure that they are secured properly. Damaged propellers must be replaced before use, otherwise they may break or become loose, which may damage the ship.

    • The battery compartment is located under the canopy. Once you have removed the canopy, insert the battery into the battery compartment (see fig. 2 for the "Northern Light" model and fig. 3 for the "Borkum II" model).     Check the forward throttle. Move the throttle on the remote control (fig. 8, position A) to adjust the speed of the ship. The more you pull the trigger, the faster the propellers will turn. If the propellers do not turn properly, disconnect the battery and establish the cause of the problem. For more information, refer to the "Trimming the controls" section in this chapter. If the motor only starts when the trigger is pushed forwards, use the "Reverse"...

    Carefully place the ship into the water in a horizontal position. Check that the propeller is off the ground and can rotate freely. Carefully pull the throttle on the remote control towards the handle. The ship will start to move forwards. To change the direction of travel, move the steering wheel (fig. 8, position B) left or right as desired.

    10. Maintenance and cleaning Check the components regularly for any signs of damage. All moving parts should move freely, but there must be not any slackness in the bearing. Clean the exterior of the ship with a soft, damp cloth. Never use aggressive cleaning chemicals or detergents, as these may damage the surface of the model. Important! Only use genuine replacement components to replace damaged or worn parts. Damage to the hull should only be repaired using a non water-soluble glue that is suitable for ABS plastics.
