When the compressed air system is full, you can activate the
brakes via the compressed air lines : at test connections 21
and 22 on the brake value sensor. This actuates the service
brake of the vehicle to be towed.

Depending on the brake value sensor installed, the
test connections may be located on either the left or
the right side of the brake value sensor.
M Disconnect line at test connection 22 :.
M Disconnect line at test connection 21 ;.
M Connect Y-shaped adapter to the two lines.
M Connect Y-shaped adapter with compressed air line to
brake coupling head of towing vehicle.
For further information on the adapter for the test connec-
tion, see page 68.
If the vehicle is unladen or partially laden, you will require an
adjustable reducing valve (pressure regulator, not pressure
limiter). With this, the rear axle brakes can be actuated ac-
cording to the load condition.
M Ensure that there is a power supply for the lights and for
the ABS from the towing vehicle to the trailer/semitrailer
of the vehicle to be towed.
M Switch the electronic ignition lock in the towed vehicle to
position 0.
M Aftertowing: Have the fault memory in the EBS/
EAPU control unit read out and erased at a qualified
workshop.
