Product description

4.1

Application

The Toshiba Redundancy Box TCB-ACREDU1-E enables a trouble-free and operating hours dependent
changeover of two indoor units. Once one of the two indoor units has a fault, the second indoor unit is
switched on immediately. With a temperature sensor the room temperature is monitored on the
speci ed setpoint via a two-step control. The second indoor unit is switched on, depending on the
control deviation. The temperature sensor is monitored against short-circuit and probe break. With an
external release contact the Redundancy box can be released for operation. Two potential-free contacts
Q3 for unit 1 and Q4 for unit 2 show the operation with closed contact and in case of failure with ashing
1 Hz of each contact.
These switching and control functions are handled by a PLC control system. All relevant operating
parameters can be set and activated via the menu on the controller display.
4.2

Delivery

The factory setting of Redundancy box is wired with the two control lines, each 8 m, for unit 1 and unit 2
nished internally. The control lines are provided with CN 61 plugs for connection to the respective
indoor unit. Also, a temperature sensor, PT100 with 3 m cable length is installed. The supply of
Redundancy box is tted on site over 230VAC with a fuse of 13A, the cable inlets are above.
4.3

Mounting

The installation-friendly small distribution can be very simple and assembled in a few steps. This permits
a particularly comfortable and rapid installation of the Redundancy box. Changing the door opening
direction can be carried out quickly without having to remove the lid or other housing parts. Further-
more, some knockouts are provided with centering points for cable inlets. Also, the plumbing of the
housing cover and the door is possible by default, without having to use additional components.
