Respiratory mask
The mask complies with standard EN 136.
Refer to the specific instructions for use for the respiratory mask.
Air cylinder
The cylinders used with breathing apparatuses must be made of metal or composite material and contain breathing air in accordance
with EN 12021.
The compressed-air cylinders used must comply with European Directive 97/23/EC applicable to
Pressurised Equipment.
The volume of air carried is calculated on the basis of the capacity and filling pressure of the cylinders, for example:
One 2-litre cylinder at 200 bar contains: 2 x 200 = 400 litres of air
For information, the method for calculating the supply time of a breathing apparatus is below:
The supply time will depend on the quantity of air carried and the air consumed by the user.
The consumption varies greatly depending on the user and the work done.
The consumption by the wearer is considered to be low, medium or high with a respiratory rate that is:

NOTE:
In practice, the actual supply time will be slightly less, particularly at 300 bar, because account must be taken of the air compressibility
coefficient (0.9 at 300 bar).
USE
Only apparatuses that have been regularly maintained in keeping with requirements of these instructions may be used.
For safety reasons, it is recommended to perform a visual check of the cylinder pressure of the apparatus as part of regular inspection
rounds.
Operating conditions for the apparatus
-15° C to +60° C
Rapid checks before use
•
Open the cylinder valve fully. At 15° C the dial pr essure indicator should display a pressure of:
- 180 bar minimum with a 200-bar cylinder,
- 280 bar minimum with a 300-bar cylinder.

If the displayed pressure is lower, do not use the apparatus because its supply time would be less. The apparatus must be
checked and refilled.
•
Check that the closure seal on the transport bag is not damaged or broken. If it is, do not use the FENZY AERIS MINI.
If used with lower air pressures, supply time of the apparatus is reduced
Putting on the apparatus
•
Put on the apparatus and adjust the strap of the transport bag.
•
Open the transport bag.
•
Put the breathing mask in place (see instructions for using the breathing mask). (Figure 5a)
•
Check that the breathing mask is sealed (see instructions for using the breathing mask). (Figure 5b)
•
Open the cylinder valve fully.
•
Check the cylinder pressure again by reading the dial pressure indicator.
•
Snap the demand valve onto the Air Klic connector of the respiratory mask (see section on demand valve) (Figure 5c)
•
The breathing apparatus is ready for use.
Use
During evacuation, look at the pressure gauge regularly. The whistle will sound when the breathing air reserve reaches the residual
pressure of 55 bar. The whistle will sound till all the breathing air is used up.
When the alarm sounds, the remaining supply time is about 3 minutes at an average breathing
rate.
This estimate is given for information only; the capacity of the cylinder, place and type of work
must be taken into account.
20 L/min mean output or 63 L/min max. instant output.
40 L/min mean output or 126 L/min max. instant output.
100 L/min mean output or 314 L/min max. instant output.
Example of theoretical supply time depending on the cylinder and work done:
