PRELIMINARY INSPECTION
Upon opening the packing carton, immediately
give the transceiver a thorough visual inspection.
Che ck to ensure that all controls and switches
move freely, and that the cabinet is free from
any signs of damage . If any damage is noticed ,
immediately document the damage completely and
contact the shipping company . Save the packing
carton and packing material for possible future use.
BASE STATION INSTALLATION
AC Power Su pp ly
The FT- 7 5 7GX requires a power source of 13. 5
1 . 5 ) volts DC, capable o f up t o 20 amps on
voice peaks. For base station installations, Yaesu
o ffers a variety of AC power supplies, all of which
may be used with AC line voltages of 100, 110,
117 , 200, 220, or 234 VAC.
connecting any power supply to the transceiver or
AC line, make certain that the supply is properly
set up for the local line voltage, and that the cor
rect fuse is installed .
The FP- 7 5 7GX i s a compact switching power
supply capable of 5 0% duty-cycle with full
power operation for up to 30 seconds at a time.
AC supply voltage is sele ctable for either 85 to
132 VAC, or 178 to 264 VAC, by installing the
internal jumper connector as shown below. A
5 -amp fuse is required for either AC range. The
fuse is located inside the power supply as shown
below.

The FP- 7 5 7HD is a heavy-duty series regulator
p ower supply capable of 5 0% duty-cycle with
full power operation for up to 30 minutes at
a time.
Forced-air cooling is provided, along
with an extra large internal heatsink. Styled to
match the FT- 7 5 7GX, the FP-7 5 7 HD requires a
6 A fuse for 100, 110 or 117 V AC, or a 3 A
fuse for 200, 220 or 234 VAC. Power trans
former primary connections for the various line
voltages are shown on the next page.
The FP- 700 and FP-707 p ower supplies may also
be used with the FT-7 5 7GX, but are recom
mended only for light duty operation, such as
SSB or CW. Fuse requirements and power trans
former wiring are the same as for the FP- 7 5 7HD ,
mentioned above and illustrated i n the diagram
on the next page, but the plastic sleeve on the
supply DC cable mu st be cut to allow connec
tion of the sp eaker in the p ower supply .
NEVER CONNECT AC POWER O R DC VOLT
AGE ABOVE 15 V DIRECTLY TO THE FT-
7 5 7GX .
Make certain that the POWER switch on the front
panel of the FT- 7 5 7GX is OFF (out) before con
necting power to the transceiver, and double check
to make sure that the polarity of the connections is
correct before switching the transceiver on.
