Operation

BALZER
INC.
Always start unit up slowly
and gradually bring it up to operating speed.(1000 PTO)
The shredder knives must be run a minimum of 2 inches above the ground to prevent excessive wear
and knife damage. Position the wheels to run in the rows.
Do not make sharp turns while tractor PTO is engaged. This practice will damage shredder PTO and
tractor hydraulic lines.
Never operate shredder with any broken or missing knives, this will cause structural and bearing
damage.
Keep all hinging guard shields in place and be sure that they can swing freely. Replace any broken
or bent guards.
WARNING:
Disengage tractor PTO drive immediately should excessive vibration occur while shredder is in
operation. Shut off tractor and remove ignition key before determining the cause of the vibration.
The tractor should run at the recommended PTO speed for effectiveness of the shredder.
WARNING:
FULL MOUNT
Max speed 20 MPH
Reduce travel speed when on a rough or bumpy surface, be sure to have the shredder raised to
avoid damage to either the tractor or the shredder.
CAUTION:
Additional weight may need to be added to the front of the tractor, to counter act the shredder weight.
The machine should always be driven from the drivers seat (from tractor) and visibility shall be such
as to allow the driver to operate it under normal operating conditions.
Special caution should be taken with the rotors because they still rotates for a while even when the
PTO is OFF.
This inertial rotation could transmit the residual motion to the tractor wheels and push it forward.
