The HeartStart uses lighted buttons and
voice instructions to guide a user through a
rescue. If a user is not familiar with the
language that the HeartStart is set to, the
HeartStart may not be used effectively to
treat a patient in need, reducing the
likelihood of survival for that patient. Make
sure that the language of the HeartStart is
set to a language that the majority of the
users of that HeartStart may be familiar
with.
pacemakers
Do not place the pads directly over an
implanted pacemaker or defibrillator. A
noticeable lump with a surgical scar should
indicate the position of an implanted device.
pads
If the pads do not stick well to the skin,
check that the pads adhesive has not dried
out. Each pad has a layer of adhesive gel. If
the gel is not sticky to the touch, replace
