io-key Safety instructions Content General ..............................6 IT security ..............................6 Required background knowledge ......................6 28333 > General 58525 • The device described is a subcomponent for integration into a system. The manufacturer is responsible for the safety of the system. The system manufacturer undertakes to perform a risk assessment and to create documentation in accordance with legal and normative requirements to be provided to the operator and user of the system.
io-key Intended use 59393 The device may only be used for the following purposes: • as IO-Link master to operate IO-Link devices • as mobile radio gateway between IO-Link devices and the ifm cloud The device is designed for use outside of a control cabinet. ►...
IO-Link master (IO-Link revision 1.0 and 1.1) • 2 IO-Link Ports Class A to connect IO-Link devices. The IO-Link ports of the AIK050 meet the requirements of the IO-Link specifications 1.0 to 1.1.2. The AIK050 offers no function to configure the connected IO-Link devices.
SIM card 59401 Transfer of data from the AIK050 to the ifm.cloud takes place via an integrated SIM card (eSIM). The customer is neither entitled to remove the integrated SIM card from the device, to sell the chip card itself, to act as a provider of telecommunication services nor to offer mobile radio services, switching or interconnection services to third parties.
The function can be configured via the ifm cloud and loaded to the AIK050 via mobile radio. The configured alarms are processed directly on the AIK050, irrespective of the connection to the ifm cloud.

59413 Information on IO-Link wiring: • The voltage supply of the connected IO-Link devices may only be provided via the AIK050. • IO-Link devices with a maximum current consumption of 500 mA can be operated per port. ► Connect the IO-Link devices with the M12 sockets of the IO ports 1 / 2.
io-key > Connecting switching outputs 59414 Optional: Connect the switching outputs DQ1 (Pin 2 ) and DQ2 (Pin 4) of the "power" port with actuators. A digital switching output can switch max. 200 mA. > Connecting the device 59415 The device has a current rating of 2000 mA. ►...
► Install the AIK050 properly. ► Connect the AIK050 to the voltage supply. > AIK050 starts ("power" status LED is on). > AIK050 establishes the connection to the ifm cloud (status LED " " is on). Further steps: • Connect the IO-Link devices.
Page 18
Connecting the IO-Link devices 59419 The AIK050 has a special mode to set up the IO-Link devices. As soon as an IO-Link device is connected to an IO-Link port, the AIK050 sends for five minutes in the transmission interval variant L (1x / 10 seconds) to facilitate the set-up of the IO-Link devices.
Check the voltage supply. applied supply voltage is too low ► error in the mobile network connection Change the location of the AIK050. Status LED “ ” is not on ► Status LED "IO Port1" / "IO Port 2"...

14.5.1 System components 59438 All servers and system components required for the operation of the infrastructure of the AIK050 data transmission and ifm cloud are operated in a technically and organisationally secure, high-performance computer network. The latter is protected by a firewall system against attacks and unauthorised access from the Internet.
The minimum availability is usually 99.0% of the annual average for the ifm cloud, in combination with the mobile radio services at AIK050. The stated availability is subject to external disturbances or failures of the mobile network, maintenance work and force majeure.
Page 32
io-key > 14.6.2 Restrictions 59442 Performance or availability problems are excepted from this: • if they are due to factors beyond ifm's control (e.g. natural disasters, war, acts of terrorism, government measures or network or equipment failures outside the provider's computer centres, including those at the customer's location or between the customer's location and the provider's computer centres) •...
