A tether anchorage point is provided on the
ceiling for each rear outer seating position. If
you have a child restraint system that comes
with a tether but can be installed with a seat
belt, the tether may be used for additional
security.
1. Locate the appropriate tether anchorage
point.
2. Lower the head restraint to its lowest
position.
3. Open the anchorage cover.
4. Route the tether strap over the seat-back.
Make sure the strap is not twisted.
5. Secure the tether strap hook to the
anchorage.
6. Tighten the tether strap as instructed by the
child restraint system manufacturer.
1Adding Security with a Tether
WARNING: Child restraint anchorages are designed
to withstand only those loads imposed by correctly
fitted child restraints. Under no circumstances are
they to be used for adult seat belts, harnesses or for
attaching other items or equipment to the vehicle.
Always use a tether for front-facing child restraint
system when using the seat belt or lower anchorages.
