Foreword
Congratulations on your purchase of a REGATTA sail winch. This purchase provides you with an innovative, top-class
product. These sail winches are designed and manufactured for practical application. Their optimal performance in
remote control sailboats is convincing.
Please be sure to observe the following safety notices:
These operating instructions are to be read completely before first-time usage. If the sail winch is transfer-
red to a third party, these operating instructions must also be included. Operation of these sail winches is only
permissible with suitable batteries at the specified voltage (see Technical data table). Direct connection to a
power source is not permitted. To do so would destroy the sail winch.
Attention must always be given to correct polarity. Reversal of the + and – conductors will damage the
electronics. The direction of rotation cannot be changed by reversing polarity.
• Sail winches are to be regularly checked for play, changes to operating noise, actuation force and actuation
speed. If changes are noticed, have the unit inspected by a dealer or a Graupner Service location.
:
When a sail winch operates under load there will be a humming or whistling noise. This is a typical
NOTICE
characteristic of digital sail winches and not a defect.
• Do not overload sail winches and avoid mechanical blockages.
• Operation on 2S LiPos is only possible with an external BEC because maximum voltage is 7.2 V.
• Do not move the winch drum by hand.
• Be sure the supply voltage never drops below 4.5 V as this can lead to malfunctions or even damage.
