DOT number
Age of tyres
Tyres should be no more than 6 years old. The material becomes
brittle with age or when the vehicle has not been driven for a
longer period of time. The four-digit DOT number on the side of
the tyre (it may be necessary to check the inner side) indicates
the date it was manufactured. The first two digits refer to the ma-
nufacturing week, the last two digits to the manufacturing year.
Example:
DOT 1819 means week 18 in the year of manufacture (here:
2019).
4.5 Wheel rims
Only use the rims noted in the registration documents. Should
you wish to use other rims, please note the following.
The following applies when using other wheel rims:
- Size,
- The pitch Circle Diameter (PCD) and the wheel offset,
- The load-bearing capacity must be sufficient for the techni-
cally permissible maximum weight.
- The wheel nuts must be the correct type for the wheel
rims fitted. i.e. Steel / Alloy (cone washer,spherical wheel
bolt).
Adaptations are only permitted if these have been released
by the manufacturer.
