4.2.2.9 GPS Command
The "gps" command displays the current status and data from the GPS position source. For a continuous
display of all GPS data, give the "gps" command without any parameters. Use "gps once" to display the
GPS data once. For a continuous one-line summary of the GPS status, use the "gps short" command. Use
"gps off" to turn off the GPS display.
Example: One-time GPS report, long format:
The long format GPS report shows the SVID, SNR, elevation, azimuth, and tracking mode/status for each
channel when the internal GPS receiver is used.

When an external ARINC 743A GPS source is used, the GPS summary is shown but the individual
channel statistics are not available.
Example: Short GPS status display:
The short GPS status display shows the fix status, the number of satellites visible, tracked and used, the
average SNR for the satellites in use, and the significant GPS performance metrics.

The short GPS status display command is particularly useful when testing for GPS interference.
Note: Previous versions of GDL 90 software provided a "GPSstatus" command. This command
is no longer supported.
