Connecting to a TV

Connect the player to a TV to view playback pictures.

Notes
• Refer to the owner's manual of the connected TV (or other equipment) as well.
• When you connect the player to your TV, be sure to turn off the power and unplug both units from the wall outlet before
making any connections.
• Connect the player directly to your TV. If you connect the player to a VCR, TV/VCR combination or video selector, the
playback picture may be distorted as DVD video discs are copy protected.
• If you place the player near a tuner or radio, the radio broadcast sound might be distorted. In this case, place the player
away from the tuner and radio.
• The output sound of the player has a wide dynamic range. Be sure to adjust the receiver's volume to a moderate listening
level. Otherwise, the speakers may be damaged by a sudden high volume sound.

Connecting headphones
Connect headphones to the headphone jack
using a stereo mini plug.
Before connecting, temporarily turn down the
volume with the headphone volume control.
Readjust to your preference when playback
starts.
• Turn off the player before you connect or
disconnect the headphone cable. Neglecting this
may cause abnormal performance of the player.

Audio/video cable
You can use the LCD of this player to monitor pictures of video equipment connected
via the AV IN jack.
Notes
• While the AV IN jack is connected, the player does not play discs.
• While you are using the LCD of the player to view pictures of video equipment, the
automatic power off function
Caution
When you use headphones, keep the volume at a
moderate level. If you use the headphones continuously
with high volume sound, it may cause hearing damage.
