Swing the fuel tank in to the chassis and secure
the fuel tank; refer to
the Left Side (page

Adjusting the PTO Clutch
Gap
Service Interval: Every 200 hours
1.
Park the machine on a level surface.
2.
Disengage the PTO, lower the mower deck, and
engage the parking brake.
3.
Raise and secure the hopper; refer to
the Hopper (page 30)
in the Raised Position (page
4.
Shut off the engine and remove the key.
5.
Open the engine-access cover; refer to
Accessing the Engine from the Engine-Access
Cover (page
49).
6.
Adjust the air gap so that a 0.4 mm (0.015 inch)
feeler gauge slides in between the clutch lining
and friction plate with light pressure
Note:
You can decrease the gap by turning
the adjusting nut clockwise
maximum service gap is 0.7 mm (0.030 inch).
Adjust all 3 air gaps.

7.
After you have set all 3 gaps, check the 3 gaps
again.
Note:
Adjusting 1 gap can alter the other gaps.
