6.1.1 Internal communication
It is assumed that the smart assembly network is a physically protected network installed in
the switchboard that is only accessible via the 7KN Powercenter 3000. In particular, routers to
additional networks are not recommended.
7KN POWERCENTER 3000 in the smart assembly network
The devices are networked with an Ethernet switch, e.g. SCALANCE, and RJ45 patch cables of
quality CAT-5e or better.
7KN Powercenter 3000 ≥ V1.2 supports the digitalization of existing and cost-optimized
power distribution systems, in which Modbus devices of other manufacturers can be
integrated in Ethernet and 7KT PAC1600 on RS485 networks.
The smart assembly network is connected to the internal Ethernet interface X2P1 of the 7KN
Powercenter 3000.
