NOTE: When you turn on the computer for the first time, don't turn
off the power again until the operating system has loaded
completely.
The AC power light glows when the computer is
connected to an external power source.
The battery light:
The hard disk drive light flashes to indicate that the hard
disk drive is currently in use.
CAUTION: Never turn off the computer while any drive is in use.

Activating the power-on password

When you first power up your computer, no password is
required. Once the operating system has loaded, you can set
up your computer so that a password is required to complete
the powering up process in the future.
To activate the power-on password:

Press the TOSHIBA Console button.
The TOSHIBA Console window appears. For more

Click Security.

Click User password.
Using the computer for the first time
Glows amber while the battery is being charged.
Glows green when the battery is fully charged.
Is unlit when the computer is not connected to an
external power source. For information on
