FAQ - Top questions
What is the difference between the standard UC models and the models that are certified for
Microsoft Skype for Business?
The models that are certified for Microsoft Skype for Business (Lync) support Microsoft Skype
for Business in plug-and-play mode. These models support features for answering and ending
calls, adjusting the volume and muting.
If you are not using Microsoft Skype for Business, use the standard UC model.
To set up features for remote call control and presence status, install Jabra Direct.

How do I improve poor audio quality when using Skype for Business or Microsoft Lync?
If you use a USB device such as a headset or speakerphone for an audio call when using Skype
for Business 2016/2015 or Microsoft Lync 2010 on a Windows 7 computer, you may experience
brief, intermittent audio issues. These issues may include loss of incoming and outgoing audio or
echo at the other end of the call. The softphone client will normally display the following
message in the active call window: "! Your device is causing poor audio quality".
Typically, USB devices that support a USB 3.0 interface are affected by this issue, because
Windows 7 does not provide USB 3.0 driver support. This causes timing issues with Skype for
Business and Microsoft Lync audio drivers, resulting in the audio issues.
Intel provides a USB 3.0 driver fix that may improve audio quality. We recommend that you
install the Intel USB 3.0 eXtensible host controller driver. Contact your company IT department
for guidance before downloading the fix, which is available here.
