Installing Motorola software on your PC

How to install Motorola Desktop suite for the A1000 on a PC so you can synchronise the two.
Ensure that your mobile is not connected to your PC
1. Close down any open applications on your PC and ensure
your mobile is not connected to your PC.
2. Place the Motorola E1000 CD into the P_C's CD drive.
3. The installation of your mobile Phone Tools software
should automatically begin, if it does not, select Start,
Run and enter D/E: Setup and select OK.
4. Follow the steps in the Wizard to install the software.
5. If you wish to have a desktop icon to access the software
regularly, select the tick box for Add a shortcut to the
desktop to start the program.
6. Select Finish.
At Choose a Profile, select New you to set up an
additional user on your PC and follow the steps.
Otherwise, select OK to keep the default profile settings
8. Choose your preferred method
a. For USB, follow the on screen instruction - turn on your
mobile, USB cable to your mobile first and then to your
PC.
b. For Bluetooth, use your PC Bluetooth software to find
your Motorola A1000. To do this, see your PC Bluetooth
user guide.

Then follow the Wizard instruction to pair your PC
Bluetooth and the Motorola E1000.
9. Once the installation is complete, you are ready to use
the software.
10. Select
in the function menu To set up a
synchronisation. The Wizard will start automatically.
11.If you have already entered data on your mobile, the
Wizard should recognise this and allow you to back-up or
delete this information by choosing either the back-up or
delete options which are shown.
12.Select the data source (eg Outlook etc) with which you
wish to sync, and then select Next. You will be presented
with the options of Contacts and Calendar / Tasks.
Select one to modify it (if you don't wish to change
anything you can skip this part and select Next).
Note: Ensure that your email application is open

Backing up and customising synchronisation

How to keep your A1000's data safe on your PC and alter your synchronisation settings.
To customise synchronisation settings...
You can choose to synchronise all or a subset of
your contacts by choosing Synchronise the
selected contacts under the filter section in the
Sync Options screen.
1. Once you have selected the filter option and then
click Next. Follow the on screen instructions.
2. Select either Contacts and Calendar / Tasks to
synchronise.
4. You will be presented with two options: Sync now
or View option.
5. Select Sync now.
a. 'Selection of a phone number field' will pop on
your PC screen if you have conflicting contact
details. You can manually resolve this conflict by
choosing the correct data and clicking OK –
should you wish for this to be automatically
resolved each time for this contact, select the
tick box Repeat this choice for other
conflicting contacts.
b. 'Conflict Management' will pop on your PC screen,
if you have any conflicting Calendar details.
Choose one of the option (eg computer or mobile
phone). Should you wish for this to be
automatically resolved each time for your
appointments, select the option for Repeat this
choice for other conflicting appointments.
6. Once synchronisation has been completed, you
will see a completed status for each task (this is
shown with a little tick next to the application).
To exit synchronisation, select Close.
