Maintenance
Stop the engine, then wait for at
least three minutes for the oil to
settle.
Note
An accurate indication of the level of
oil in the engine is only shown when
the engine is at normal operating
temperature, the motorcycle is upright
(not on the side stand) and when the
dipstick has been screwed fully home.
Do not add oil through the dipstick hole
in the crankcase.
Remove the dipstick.
The oil level is indicated by lines on
the dipstick. When full, the indicated
oil level must be level with the upper
marking on the dipstick.
If the oil level is below the lower
marking, remove the filler plug and
add oil a little at a time through the
filler plug hole in the clutch cover
until the correct level is reached.
Once the correct level is reached, fit
and tighten the filler plug.

Engine Oil and Filter Change

Warning
Prolonged or repeated contact with
engine oil can lead to skin dryness,
irritation and dermatitis.
Used engine oil contains harmful
contamination that can lead to skin
cancer.
Always
wear
clothing and avoid skin contact with
used oil.

The engine oil may be hot.
Avoid contact with the hot engine
oil by wearing suitable protective
clothing, gloves and eye protection.
Contact with hot engine oil may cause
the skin to be scalded or burned.
Warning
If the engine has recently been
running, the exhaust system will be
hot.
Before working on or near the exhaust
system, allow sufficient time for the
exhaust system to cool as touching
any part of a hot exhaust system
could cause burn injuries.
The engine oil and engine oil filter
must be replaced in accordance with
scheduled maintenance requirements.
