HYPERTHERMIA 30 minutes or less is the recommended length of time for a single sauna session. Hyperthermia occurs when the internal temperature of the body reaches a level several degrees above the normal body temperature of 98.6° F (37° C). Being properly hydrated, using the sauna for reasonable lengths of time, and being aware of your body’s reaction to heat will help prevent hyperthermia.
