Phones have many standard and programmable features. Each phone in the system can be programmed independently, providing maximum flexibility for system configuration. See the Programming section on page 11 of this manual for instructions on basic programming of S.M.A.R.T phones from another touch-tone phone.

Loosen the 4 tamper-resistant screws from the front panel assembly using the GAI-Tronics Model 233 Tamper-Resistant Screwdriver (sold separately). NOTE The front cover is not equipped with hinges. Take care when removing the cover to avoid dropping it.

Model 293SL Only: Create an access hole using a Greenlee-type punch that is equivalent in size to the conduit diameter. Bottom entry is strongly recommended. Insert a conduit fitting in the access hole.

If using the modular jack remove the cover, and connect the green and red wires of the telephone line to the green and the red wires of the modular wall jack.

A Model 233 Tamper-Resistant Screwdriver (sold separately) is required when installing the tamper-resistant screws. Figure 5.

E 42004-661L2C MERGENCY HONES Relay Output The relay output enables peripheral equipment, such as beacons, video cameras, and alarms, to be activated when the EMERGENCY push button is pressed. Two sets of Form C-type relay contacts are accessible on TB3 inside the phone enclosure.

    11 of 16 S.M.A.R.T. E 42004-661L2C MERGENCY HONES Programming All S.M.A.R.T. Phone models are programmable, and system features are initially programmed during manufacturing and testing. These default settings from the factory can be found in Table R-2. Once the S.M.A.R.T. Phone is installed, you have the option of changing the default settings. This manual provides instructions for programming basic features needed to initially set up the phone from another touch-tone phone.

Acceptance of data transfer commands is indicated via a return code transmitted as an audible DTMF tone. Auto-dial Memory The Auto-dial S.M.A.R.T.

E 42004-661L2C MERGENCY HONES Call Time-out The call time-out feature is used to limit the duration of calls, which can be set between one minute and 2 hours, 46 minutes, 20 seconds. The time limit is set by entering a number from 6 to 998. This number represents the number of ten-second increments of duration.

E 42004-661L2C MERGENCY HONES Maintenance TMS users can schedule auto-dial maintenance calls to alert maintenance personnel of any unusual sensor or fault conditions that exist. S.M.A.R.T. Phones can also be programmed to generate an auto-dial maintenance call any time a sensor event or fault event is discovered. Access to the S.M.A.R.T. Phone’s maintenance mode is restricted through the use of the maintenance access PIN.
