Crescendo Pre‐amplifier Remote Control Users Manual
System Screen – DAC info
The following preliminary information is included to explain what "DAC info" means. Its actual
functionality has been disabled at the time of this writing.
The "DAC Info" screen is shown by pressing the "DAC Info" button on the "On CAN Bus" tab (see
"System Setup – On CAN ")
The Viola Audio DAC is a device built into the Crescendo,
providing a 192 Khz, 32 bit digital audio stream to input 7 for
USB and 8 for SPDif.
The Audio DAC has several processes running, along with a very
precise, extremely low jitter clock.
It communicates its status to and accepts commands from the
Crescendo's processor by a local bus. In turn, the Crescendo has
the ability to communicate telemetry up to the iTouch and send
commands down to the DAC board, through the Crescendo's
processor.
The DAC info screen shows part of this telemetry. At the time of
this writing, the iTouch applet did not have the ability to convey
the data so the fields are not filled in.
