Cut the thread
(to
be
changed)
near
the
spool and
tie
the
new thread
to
the
re-
maining piece
of
thread on the
machine,
as
shown
in
Figure
9.
Lift
up
presser
foot.
Lift
tension
adjuster
knob so
that
it
passes
the knot
of
linked
thread smoothly,
and
draw the
thread
till
the knot
comes
about
10 cm past the
presser
foot
(Figure
10).
Note:
Special
care must be taken
when
changing
"needle thread"
:
Cut
off
the knot
before
it
is
rlrar,rrn
too
near
to
the
needle
eye
so
as
to
avoid
possible
bending
of
the
neerlle
by
pulling
the knot
caughr
in
rhe
needle
eye
(see
Figure
1
