Electric hotplate
Depending on the hob model, it may have
electric hotplates with infinite control or
with a six-position control knob. In both
cases, before using the hotplates for the
first time, they should be heated up one by
one for 5 minutes with nothing on them,
and at maximum power. The appearance
of smoke and smells is normal, and they
will gradually disappear with use. Apart
from this first time, the hotplates should
not be used without a pan on them.
Use a pan with a completely flat heavy
base of a suitable size to fit the diameter of
the hotplate (Fig. 1) in order to obtain
minimum cooking times and consequently,
minimum energy consumption.
We recommend that the control knob be
turned to the maximum position at the start
of cooking, and then adjusted to an
intermediate position depending on the
type and quantity of food being prepared.
In order to take advantage of the heat
retention property of the hotplate, it may be
turned off shortly before cooking has
completed, thus saving energy, as cooking
will continue due to the heat which has
accumulated in the hotplate.
Avoid liquids spilling over onto the hotplate
surface and placing wet pans on it.
Electric Hotplates with infinite control
This hotplate is controlled by an infinite
heat regulator with which you can select
the suitable level of power for the food you
are cooking.
Taking the type of cooking and the quantity
of food to be cooked into account, and
using the table below as a guide, turn the
control knob to the left (Fig. 2) until
reaching the position that corresponds to
the food being prepared. The power-on
indicator light will come on. To turn the
hotplate off, turn the knob to the O
position. The indicator light will go out.
