1. SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
1.1. GENERAL SAFETY
Connect the probe output to the TA4000
oscilloscope before connecting the probe to the
circuit under test. Disconnect the probe input and
the probe reference lead from the circuit under test
before disconnecting the probe from the TA4000
oscilloscope.
To avoid fire or shock hazard, observe all ratings
and markings on the product to be tested. Consult
the product manual for rating information before
making connections to the product. To avoid shock
hazard, use a correctly rated probe for your
measurement.
Remain vigilant when using the oscilloscope and
associated cables on, or near, machinery where
there are rotational parts such as belts, pulleys
and fans.
Maintain correct balance and footing. Ensure the
floor is not slippery and wear non-slip shoes.
Remove ill fitting clothing. Remove ties, watches,
rings, and other loose jewellery, and contain and/ or
tie back long hair.

2. INTRODUCTION
The TA4000.04 Oscilloscope probe is a passive, low
impedance attenuation probe intended for use with the
TA4000 Oscilloscope. The probe has been designed
and calibrated for use on instruments having an
impedance of 1MΩ paralleled by 20pF. However, it
may be recalibrated for use on instruments having an
input capacitance of 15 to 40pF. The probe comes
with a 1.5mtr cable and a two position slide switch
(1X, 10X) is incorporated into the probe body.
