Standard Ridge Terminal Flue Kit
3.0 DESIGN/ TECHNICAL
The standard ridge terminal flue kit, (Stock
d
e
code no. GT235) is based on 60mm single flue
system and 60/100mm concentric flue system.
Components are shown opposite.
The standard kits should cover the majority
of typical installations. However separate
extra components can be ordered using the
individual stock codes shown if required.
The maximum air/flue length which can be
used must not exceed an equivalent length
specified as shown in the table on page 6.
Flues should generally be installed in
accordance with BS 5440 : Part 1.
Air for combustion must effectively be taken
from outside the dwelling. Typically the
combustion air will be drawn from a ventilated
roof space or from a duct which is permanently
open to outside air. The open area of the
vent must not be less than 290cm
2000/130) and 195cm
A ventilated loft space complying with Section
F of the Building Regulations 1995 (See
Approved Document L2) will provide an
adequate air supply. If there is any doubt
regarding the adequacy of combustion air
supply, Gledhill Technical Department should
be consulted.
Combustion air must not be drawn from
within the building anywhere other than
the ventilated loft space.
