MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING

SAUNA:
1. Do not treat the wooden walls of the sauna with paint or other as the wood will thus lose its athermal qualities and, in the event of
contact with skin, could cause burns.
2. Never use powder detergents, acetone, ammonia or products containing these substances as this will damage glass beyond repair.
3. Do not use products containing formic acid or formaldehyde to clean glass surfaces.
4. Clean the footboards and benches after each use.
5. Do not use cleaning products containing solvents such as trichlorethylene, thinners, and turpentine.
CLEANING THE STEEL PARTS:
1. Use a soft cloth for all cleaning, never use abrasive wipes.
2. Use a soft cloth dampened with alcohol to clean these parts.
3. Never use power detergents.
To speed up the drying process, we recommend leaving the door open for better ventilation.
The user MUST contact one of our specialised technicians directly at our headquarters for any interventions.
CAUTION (BIO-SAUNA):
After using the bio-sauna, it is advisable to keep the product on in the Finnish sauna function at a temperature of 80/90°C for about 30 minutes to dry
the moisture inside. If further water stagnation is present at the end of the cycle, dry with a soft cloth.
TRANSPORT OR MOVEMENT
If you need to move the product, even just a short distance, you MUST first dismantle it.
To reassemble it, you MUST once again follow the installation instructions.
CAUTION: LIFTING THE PRODUCT AFTER IT HAS BEEN INSTALLED IS STRICTLY PROHIBITED.

HOW AND WHEN TO USE A SAUNA
The practice of a "heat bath", or rather a sauna, has ancient origins dating back about a thousand years ago. This practice, thanks to its therapeutic
virtues that are often associated with rites of purification contemplated in many religions, was already known of in Ancient Greece and found its
greatest development in the Baltic region, particularly in Finland, where it was already being practised as early as in 1100.
Over the years, the characteristics of saunas have evolved to what we think of as a modern-day sauna - very hot, dry air in a closed environment,
heated using an electric heater.
Saunas can be enjoyed at any time, even after an intense physical workout, provided that the user rests about 15/20 minutes before entering into the
sauna. In any case, to enjoy maximum benefits, you must undergo treatment in and without being in a hurry. You should not use a sauna with a full
stomach, but not with a fully empty stomach either. In this case, it is advisable to have a snack of yoghurt or fruit, avoiding heavier foods or alcohol.
Have a shower, preferably a hot one to facilitate muscular relaxation and dilate skin pores, before entering into the sauna. Thoroughly dry yourself off
and, if your feet should feel cold, give yourself a footbath.
Once inside, lay a towel on the bench and sit or lay comfortably down. Treatment is best if you are naked or covered with comfortable natural fibre or
terry-cloth clothing (avoid synthetic clothing). Avoid taking any metallic or plastic objects inside the sauna (chains, rings, earrings, watches, hair clips,
etc.) as well as contact lenses or slippers which, with the heat, can become uncomfortable and, in some cases, hazardous (they could become red-hot
and cause burns).
The ideal session time in the sauna varies from a minimum of 5 (five) to a maximum of 15 (fifteen) minutes. If possible, lie down and fully relax without
talking and breathe slowly and deeply. Before exiting, it is preferable to spend the last minute of the cycle seated, to rebalance pressure.
A few minutes before exiting, you can pour one or two ladles of water on the hot stones, thus increasing humidity and therefore the perception of heat
and, consequently, increasing perspiration to purify pores and eliminate accumulated toxins.
Once outside of the sauna, take a cold shower or wet yourself with sponges (starting from the feet upward). You will enjoy a very pleasurable and
invigorating feeling. Rest for another 15/20 minutes.
The complete cycle (including rest) described in this paragraph can be repeated up to three times. It is important not to overdo it and to learn
to "listen" to your body, perceiving the signs and needs which can vary even from day to day.
Saunas have extraordinary relaxation properties that have a positive effect on both body and mind, cleaning skin (acids and toxins are eliminated via
perspiration), improving the metabolism and increasing skin elasticity. It is, however, important not to over-use saunas. The optimal frequency of use
is once every week, preferably on the same day. Even occasionally over-using saunas can have exactly the opposite effect to that desired.
