FORM FIT HOOD PROTECTOR
Lexus GX 470 2003 -
Thank you for purchasing a form fit hood protector.
Care Instructions
Clean the protector with a mild soap and water solution or plastic cleaner only.
Periodically check to make sure all the hardware is in place and the protector is secure.
Attention!
Do not use chemicals or solvents. Avoid using automatic car washes. Do not pull on the
protector when opening or closing the hood.

Installation Instruction
1. Be sure that the hood is clean and dry inside and out. Open the hood of the vehicle.
2. Apply the adhesive promoter to the 2 (two) areas shown in Illustration #1, where the mounting pedestals will attach. Follow
the instructions on the promoter for use. Allow the adhesive promoter to dry.
3. Peel the protective backing from the tape with the open end of the pedestals facing forward, press the pedestals into place
on the hood as shown in Illustration #1. Press down firmly on each mounting pedestal to make sure they are properly
adhered. Clean up any residue.
4. Install the bumpons as shown in Illustration #2. Attention: The bumpons must be installed on the hood not the
protector!!!! If the bumpons are installed on the protector, they will wear through the paint.
5. Position the protector on the hood by engaging the hooks on the pedestals attached to the protector with those on the
pedestals installed on the hood. Make sure that the protector is centered.
6. Peel and fold an anti-abrasion film pad in half over the edge of the hood, underneath each of the lower two (2) holes in the
protector. See Illustrations #2 & #3 - Step 6.
7a) Place a clip over each of the anti-abrasion film pads on the edge of the hood as shown below in Illustration #2 – Step 7a.
b) Insert a pin through the protector into each of the clips. See Illustration #2 – Step 7b.
c) Insert a #6 x 5/8'' screw through an 'L'- bracket and into the clip. See Illustration #2 – Step 7c & 7d.
d) Make sure all the components are well seated together; the protector is centered on the hood, and then tighten the screws
into the clips.
8. Repeat steps #6 and #7 for the other six (6) holes.
9. Place the remaining two anti-abrasion film pads on the bumper cover directly below the clips – See Illustration #2.
10.On some vehicles it may be necessary to adjust the hood bumpers and/or latch for proper clearance.
Note: Do not pull on the protector when opening or closing the hood.

Installation Instruction

the instructions on the promoter for use. Allow the adhesive promoter to dry.

6. Peel and fold an anti-abrasion film pad in half over the edge of the hood, underneath each of the lower two (2) holes in the
protector. See Illustrations #2 & #3 - Step 6.
7a) Place a clip over each of the anti-abrasion film pads on the edge of the hood as shown below in Illustration #2 – Step 7a.
b) Insert a pin through the protector into each of the clips. See Illustration #2 – Step 7b.
c) Insert a #6 x 5/8'' screw through an 'L'- bracket and into the clip. See Illustration #2 – Step 7c & 7d.
d) Make sure all the components are well seated together; the protector is centered on the hood, and then tighten the screws
into the clips.
8. Repeat steps #6 and #7 for the other six (6) holes.
9. Place the remaining two anti-abrasion film pads on the bumper cover directly below the clips – See Illustration #2.
10.On some vehicles it may be necessary to adjust the hood bumpers and/or latch for proper clearance.
Note: Do not pull on the protector when opening or closing the hood.
