The speed of the shaft is adjusted by changing the drive belt pulley.
1. To do so, open the belt array cover
(50) on the front side of the motor
housing. This cover is fastened in
place by two screws. In order to
change the drive belt over to another
sized pulley, undo the four bolts that
hold the drive pulley in place first
using a size 10 Allen key.
2. You can now push the drive pulley
upwards until the drive belt loosens
and can be placed on one of the other
pulleys. The belt must run parallel
when selecting a transmission stage.
The rotational speeds of the individual stages are shown in the
drawing alongside.
3. After you have placed the drive belt on the required drive and
output pulleys, pull the drive gear down a little until the drive belt is
taut.
4. Fasten the drive gear in this position by tightening the four bolts
around the pulley again.
Important: There is a safety switch on the cover of the belt array (A)
which prevents the lathe being operated whilst the belt array is open.
The machine can only be operated after the cover has been closed
tight.
Switching the Lathe ON and OFF
The ON/OFF switch (B) is located on the upper section of the motor
housing. The machine is switched on by pressing the green button and
switched off by pressing the red button. The switch has an undervolt-
age release. This means that the machine does not start up again
automatically after an interruption in mains supply but has to be started
again by pressing the ON switch.
