• Test the length setting. If necessary, readjust the length until you find a comfortable position.
If possible, do not screw the thread out fully or pull out the slotted threaded ring. It may fall out and be lost.
Do not twist the cable inside or pull on it.
• Loosen the knurled nuts on the swivel joint (14).
• Adjust the horizontal position of the detection probe (1) so that it is always parallel to the ground. Tighten the
knurled nuts lightly by hand. It must still be possible to adjust the detection probe (1) by hand, but it must not slip
immediately.
• Tighten the knurled nuts on the swivel joint (14) so that the position of the detection probe (1) does not change when
you are searching for metallic objects.

9. Operation

a) Inserting/replacing the batteries

Insert the batteries before using the metal detector for the first time. Proceed as follows:
To replace the batteries at a later stage, remove the old batteries and follow the steps above.
• The battery life with high-quality, fully charged alkaline batteries is approximately 24 hours.
• Pull the lower telescopic pole (2) outwards to the desired position. The bottom
of the metal detector should be parallel to the ground when you are searching
for metallic objects.
• Turn the connection sleeve (3) anticlockwise to secure the pole in place at the
desired length.
• To insert the batteries, remove the battery compartment cover from the rear of the
control unit (13). Slide the battery compartment cover in the "OPEN" arrow direction.
Fold open the battery compartment cover.
• Remove the cover from the battery compartment.
• Insert six 1.5 V AA batteries with correct polarity into the battery compartment (12)
(batteries not included). Always observe the correct polarity (positive/+ and
negative/-).
• Replace the battery compartment cover. Slide the battery compartment cover back
against the "OPEN" arrow direction and ensure that the locking mechanism clicks
into place.
