Do not charge your battery over a long
A
period of time, if you do not need it.
Lithium-ion batteries have no memory
I
effect; they can therefore be charged at
any time without affecting battery life.
Also observe the notes on the respec-
I
tive labels on the rechargeable battery
or on the charger (e).
For more information on the proper handling of
the rechargeable battery see the system instruc-
tions of your drive manufacturer on the enclosed
CENTURION CD-ROM.
Transporting the CENTURION
pedelec

By car

CENTURION pedelecs can be transported like con-
ventional bikes outside or inside the car (f). Always
make sure the CENTURION pedelec is securely fas-
tened outside or inside the car and check the fasten-
ings regularly. In addition, you should always remove
the battery from the CENTURION pedelec
prior to fastening it on the car roof. Stow the battery
and, if applicable, a removable display unit, inside the
car and secure it appropriately to avoid any damage
in transit.
For more information see the chapter "Transport-
ing the CENTURION bike" of your comprehensive
original CENTURION user manual on the enclosed
CENTURION CD-ROM.
(g+h)
The weight distribution on CENTURION
G
pedelecs differs markedly from the
weight distribution on CENTURION bikes
without drive assistance. A CENTURION pedelec
is markedly heavier than a CENTURION bike
without drive assistance. For this reason park-
ing, pushing, lifting and carrying the CENTURION
pedelec is more difficult. Bear this in mind when
e
loading your pedelec into a car and unloading it
or when mounting it on a bicycle carrier system.
Before transporting several pedelecs
A
with a roof mounting or a rear mounting
carrier system, inform yourself about the
maximum load capacity of the bike carrier and the
maximum load of the trailer hitch. Keep in mind
that the weight of a CENTURION pedelec is high-
er than the weight of a bike without drive. Maybe
f
you can only transport one or two CENTURION
pedelecs instead of three bikes without drive.
Make sure to remove all movable and
A
loose parts and above all the rechargea-
ble battery, the control element and the
cycle computer on the handlebars before trans-
porting the pedelec inside or outside the car. If
you transport your CENTURION pedelec without
g
its battery on a bike carrier system, protect the
connections against water, moisture and dirt, for
example, with a plastic bag.
If necessary, inform yourself about the
I
regulations concerning bike/pedelec
transport in the countries that you in-
tend to transit during your journey. The regula-
tions e.g. with regard to the marking, differ from
country to country.
