F. Firmware Upgrade
The imageRUNNER 2016/2020 Series is equipped with a USB port as
standard. The main controller, Boot ROM and optional ROM firmware can be
downloaded from a service PC via a USB cable, but cannot be downloaded
via network or flash drive.

G. Computer Requirements for Upgrading
The following are the recommended Desktop PC or laptop specifications
use for the download:
• CPU: Intel Celeron 400MHz or higher
• Memory: 128MB of RAM
• Free HDD Capacity: 1GB of available hard disk space
• CD-ROM Drive: Firmware is provided in the form of a CD. However, a CD-
ROM drive is not required if the firmware can be copied from the CD to a
PC via a network.
• Downloading tool (software): SST version 3.21 or later (provided in CD)
• Operating environment: Windows 2000/XP
