VXIpc-486 Plug-in Boards
The second board cannot be supported if it is shorter than the first board by a difference greater
than one inch, as shown in Figure F-10. Remember that PC AT-height boards can be used in the
second expansion slot only.
Second Board over One Inch Shorter than First Board
While you can physically install a board that is between 8.2 in. and 13.4 in. long, the back end
will not be supported. This may not be an issue in some applications, but if the application
requires rugged handling, it may be inadvisable to install the board without a support. Figures
F-11 and F-12 show two examples in which the second board is unsupported because it is
between 8.2 in. and 13.4 in. long.
