Connecting a Keypad to a Kollector or PC

The V1410 and V1411 range of Keypads are ideal for use with the Kollector or ViconNet
workstation providing joystick control of any PTZ camera on the network. In all cases a
RS-232/422 protocol converter is required to interface the keypad with the Kollector or PC.
1.
Firstly wire the protocol
converter to the Keypad
breakout box as shown using
Belden 8273 shielded
twisted pair cable.
Note: Another manufacturer's
converter may have a
different wiring configuration
to the one shown.
Next plug the converter into the
9 pin D comm port of the
Kollector or Workstation PC.
Connect the Keypad using the
CAT5 patch cable supplied and
configure the Keypad to a spare
address (not used by a PTZ
device). Set the baud
rate to 2400* (see note).
2.
Now access the system
settings of the Kollector or
PC by clicking on Set up.
Click on the Control (RS-
232/422/485) button.
