The PG 8596 DOS housing unit complies with current safety re-
quirements. Inappropriate use can, however, lead to personal injury
and damage to property.
To avoid the risk of accidents and damage to the DOS housing
unit, please read these instructions carefully before using it for the
first time. They contain important information on its installation,
safe use and maintenance. Keep these instructions in a safe place
and pass them on to any future owner.

Technical safety

Check the PG 8596 DOS housing unit before use for any visible
damage. Do not use a damaged DOS housing unit. It could be dan-
gerous.
In the event of a damaged or leaking PG 8596 unit, switch it off im-
mediately and call the Miele Service Department or an authorised
Miele Service dealer.
Faulty components must only be replaced by genuine Miele orig-
inal spare parts. Only when these parts are fitted can Miele guarantee
the correct functioning and safety of the appliance.
If the DOS housing unit is not built into a kitchen run or secured on
a plinth, it must be secured against tipping using a floor anchor kit.

Correct use

Take care when handling chemical agents. These may contain irri-
tant, corrosive or toxic ingredients.
Please observe the chemical agent manufacturer's safety instructions
and safety data sheets.
Wear protective gloves and goggles.
Ensure that the stainless steel outer casing of the appliance does
not come into contact with solutions or steam containing acid to
avoid any corrosion damage.
This unit must only be connected to Miele-approved machines.
Refill or replace containers in good time or when the relevant mes-
sage appears in the display of the washer-disinfector to which the
DOS module is connected.
Before changing agents rinse out the individual components of the
DOS module to prevent a build-up of viscous or gelatinous residues
which can block the hoses.
