1. INTRODUCTION

Universal Rack Mount Enclosure 1435040–1 is used
for housing connections for copper and multimode
optical fiber applications. The enclosure fits into
standard 483–mm [19.0–in.] Electronic Industries
Alliance (EIA) rack. Read these instructions
thoroughly before starting installation.
This instruction sheet covers mounting the enclosure
and installing the following accessories into the
enclosure:

MT–RJ Connector 12–Fiber Cassette 1435005–[ ]
— 24–Fiber Cassette1435006–[ ]
The enclosure holds maximum of three cassettes.

— RJ–45 Category 5 Slimline Panel Module
Assembly Kit 1375368–1
(consists of a interface housing and pc board
assembly)
The enclosure holds a maximum of four adapter
blocks and/or pc board assemblies.

2. DESCRIPTION

The enclosure consists of a chassis, slide–out tray, a
3–position faceplate for unshielded twisted pair (UTP)
fiber/optical fiber applications, and a 4–position
faceplate for UTP fiber applications. Three "snap–in"
adapter plates are included with the 3–position
faceplate.
At the back of the tray is a cutout for cable exit and
four tie–down brackets used for securing the fiber to
the tray. The tray is held closed by two flip latches.
Two universal mounting brackets and four 12–24
UNF–2A pan head screws are included for mounting
in the rack.

3. INSTALLATION

3.1. Mount the Enclosure

1. The enclosure is assembled for mounting in
the rack; mount the enclosure in the rack. Secure
the enclosure using the mounting screws. See
Figure 2.
2. Unlatch, and slide the tray out from the chassis
until the tray stops (as shown in Figure 1).
