    Thank you for choosing to buy a RotoBed®Free. RotoBed®Free is a high quality product that will serve you as an aid for many years to come with proper use and maintenance. To get the most out of your bed, please read this manual carefully.

    Provide sufficient distance to wall / furniture, taking into account the movements of the bed.  Place the bed near a wall outlet to prevent free cables / fall risk.  If a lifting pole is mounted on the bed, ensure sufficient free ceiling height with the bed in the highest position.

    3. Commissioning Mounting of the mattress A RotoBed®Free bed comes with a mattress consisting of a main part and a foot part. The main mattress has 5 buttons on the back.  First place the three lower buttons in the grooves at the bottom of the bed.

    Individual storing of bed height Entry Get seated as close to the backrest as possible for the best comfort. Hold down the Sleeping Position key until the bed is rotated and horizontal. Now, RotoBed®Free works as an ordinary care bed.

To facilitate exit you can, by means of the remote control, move the backrest the last bit forward and raise the bed a little in height.     Purposes and standards RotoBed®Free is designed to help users with physical and / or psychological constraints. RotoBed®Free facilitates entry and exit for the user and reduces the workload for assistants in connection with care and transfer. RotoBed®Free is used in care centers, home care and private homes.

    Children RotoBed® wishes to draw users attention to the potential dangers of children who play in and around the bed. Children are naturally curious. They find beds with moving parts exciting, but due to the powerful engines, the bed is absolutely not suitable as a toy. In case of improper use there is a risk of getting squeezed.

    Use of accessories RotoBed®Free and accessories are nationally assessed and approved according to EN60601-2-52 standard. The standard contains essential requirements for the combination of bed and accessories such as mattress, bed rails, lifting pole etc. It is the responsibility of the staff to ensure that bed and accessories are assembled and used according to the manufacturer's regulations.

    Lifting pole A RotoBed® can be delivered with a lifting pole which can be mounted freely on the right or left side of the bed's head. The lifting pole's grip is provided with a roller belt so that the height can be adjusted to the individual user.

    Make sure that the remote control and its cord do not get caught between the moving parts of the bed while in use.  Avoid free wiring on the floor. You may stumble into them and / or drive them over.  Before use and service / maintenance, check all electrical wiring, power supply and connection for cracks or other visible damage.

    Make sure all the bed's parts are dry before putting the mattress back onto the bed. Disinfection A RotoBed® care bed must be disinfected regularly and ideally for each new user to prevent disease infection.   • Page 19: Cleaning In Washing System

    The electrical parts of the bed and mechanical functions must be tested before using the bed again. The supplied standard castor for a RotoBed® care bed has not been tested for cleaning in washing systems. Unless the castors are removed before washing, shorter lifespan should be calculated.

    RotoBed® care beds do not require much maintenance, but it will minimize any problems to keep the bed clean and follow the instructions for use and cleaning. Daily use will cause natural wear on the engines, so we recommend an annual service inspection. This can be purchased and will extend the warranty period.
