CTM Water Filter, read this manual to become familiar with the device and its capabili- ® ties. The Culligan CTM Carbon and Depth Filters have been tested and certified by WQA against NSF/ANSI Standard 372 and NSF/ANSI Standard 61 for Materials Safety Requirements only. Not certified for Contaminant Reductions and Structural Integrity by WQA.
On depth filters with pressure gauges, the differential pressure across the filter can be monitored. A depth filter should be cleaned when the differential pressure across the filter increases by 8–10 psi over the pressure differential across a clean filter bed. Cat. Performance Specifications Specifications for CTM Water Filters In order to function properly, some operational parameters must be followed. They include: An operating water pressure between 35 and 125 psi (241–862 kPa). If water pressure is greater than 80 psi, Cul- ligan recommends following the IAPMO Uniform Plumbing code section 806.2 by installing a Pressure Regulating Valve before the system.

Drain Line Proper discharge height and distance of the drain line will be dependent on the pressure supplied to the valve. Discharge to a nearby floor drain will cause no backpressure, if the drain line needs to run overhead, the maximum height is 10’ at the minimum supply pressure without decreasing vacuum on the brine line.

Wiring Procedures and Diagrams Preparation Loosen the screws securing the controller access cover (see Figure 19) on each controller provided. Cable Routing All input and output connections to the circuit board are 24 Volt or less. Although the cables do not have to be run in conduit, it is necessary that long runs of cable be supported or protected by strapping them to the equipment piping.

IMPORTANT—Setting the Jumpers for GBE to GBE RS485 Communication For GBE controls to communicate via RS485 properly, the first and last Jumper location for units must have the jumpers set to pins 1 and 2 on terminal J22 (see first and last units Figure 29 at right).
Page 32
Failure to do so can result in, at a minimum, damaging the GBE circuit boards. Culligan STRONGLY RECOMMENDS that every GBE circuit board be provided with its own individual power transformer as shown in Figure 32.

Suggested Preventive Maintenance Inspection Schedule The Culligan CTM commercial water filter has been designed to provide a good, consistent service life. Routinely inspect- ing the system may help avoid potentially costly breakdowns related to circumstances outside of the control of the dealer and/or user.
We suggest the use of “a mild cleaning solvent”. We suggest the following brands or their equivalents: Cleaning Solvent: Simple Green --- water soluble for removing corrosion and dirt. Dow Corning #111, silicone grease, must be used in order to maintain the unit’s NSF certifications. Cat. No. 01029343 Culligan® Culligan Top Mount (CTM) Water Filters...

Sizing Kits Select the kit that fits the backwash flow rate and tank size the valve is being used on. Some components are common to all kits, since they are necessary for the installation. If alternative mounting of the GBE Controller is selected, customers cannot deduct or return the front mount bracket that comes standard in these kits.
