• Tampering with any part of the machine;
• Use of non-original spare parts and accessories;
• Failure to descale;
• Storage at temperatures below 0°C;
• Use at temperatures below 10°C or above 40°C;
• Use at a relative humidity above 95%;
• Use of pods other than those indicated.
In these cases, the warranty is not valid.

STARTING THE MACHINE

Place the machine on a fl at and stable surface, away from water
and heat sources. Disconnect the power supply if connected. Lift the
machine only by using the appropriate lifting handle provided on the
upper part. (see
MACHINE COMPONENTS
the machine resulting from the failure to follow these instructions will
not be covered by the warranty.
Lift and remove the water tank lid,

then the water tank itself.
Rinse the tank.

Fill the water tank up to the MAX

level, using only fresh, drinking,
non-sparkling water.
Hot water or any other liquid may damage the tank and the appliance.
Do not operate the machine without water. Make sure there is enough
water in the tank.
Before turning on the machine, make sure that the coff ee brew

switch is not pressed.
Connect the power cord to the machine and to the electric socket.

Press the main switch and bring it to the I position (see
COMPONENTS
- Picture B).
The power indicator light turns on.

MACHINE SETTING

The use of the water fi lter improves the quality of water and
increases the operational life of the appliance by preventing
limescale build-up. Saeco recommends using the INTENZA BRITA
FILTER (optional accessory). To install the fi lter follow the instruc-
tion leafl et provided with the accessory.
Upon the fi rst machine start up and after a long period of
inactivity, you need to rinse the water circuit as explained
below.

Remove the container.
Fill the water tank again.

When the coff ee brew switch is steadily illuminated, the machine is
ready.
PRIMING THE WATER CIRCUIT
If there is no more water in the tank, you need to prime the
water circuit as explained below.
