SETTING THE SPRAYER The following must be performed to set the sprayer: . Check of the power take-off (PTo) speed. . Check of the advance speed. . Calculation of the flow rate of the nozzles of the equipment. . Check of the flow rate of the nozzles of the equipment. CHECKING PoWER TAKE-oFF AND ENGINE SPEED - Measure the power take-off speed using a tachometer. - Adjust the engine speed to obtain 540 rpm at the power take-off. - Identify the corresponding engine speed on the tachometer of the tractor dashboard: we recommend you put a mark (R) on the dial or record the value given by the digital readout. CHECKING TRACToR ADVANCE SPEED - Measure 100 metres in a field. - Start in any gear, power take-off speed of 540 rpm running. - Measure the time taken to cover the distance. 100 meters - Calculate the speed by applying the following formula: 3,6 x Distance covered (en meter) Speed (in km/h) =...
  • Page 12: Calculating Flow Rates Of Nozzles Of Equipment

Equipment flow rate (l/min) Nozzle flow rate (l/min) = Number of nozzles - In the table on page 13, calculate the pressure corresponding to the closest value of the nozzle flow rate required. . Example: Sprayer with nozzle holder fitted with 10 grey ATR nozzles. Flow rate of equipment required: 24.2 l/min 24,2 = 2.42 l/min Nozzle flow rate = By consulting the table on 13; 2.43 l/min can be obtained at approximately 14 bar. 2. Sprayer with ToREX nozzle (MAXAIR 240): - Calculate the flow rate per nozzle using the following formula: Equipment flow rate (l/min) Nozzle flow rate (l/min) = Number of nozzles - In the table on page 16, calculate the pressure corresponding to the closest value of the nozzle flow rate required. . Example: MAXAIR 240 sprayer with nozzle holder fitted with 8 TOREX nozzles. Flow rate of equipment required: 24.2 l/min 24.2 Nozzle flow rate = = 3.03 l/min Consulting the table on page 16, a flow rate of 3.03 l/min can be used, i.e.:...

CHECKING FLoW RATE oF NozzLES oF EqUIPMENT - Put the sprayer in the horizontal position. - Fill the tank. - Start the pump at 540 rpm and adjust the working pressure with the sections open. - Close the sections and top up using as a reference the bottom of the fixed collar of the cover. - Open the sections for one minute timed. - Top up to the mark using a graduated block to measures the quantity delivered by the nozzles. - If the flow rate measured is different to the flow rate required, calculate the new pressure in order to obtain the objective using the following formula: (Required flow rate) New pressure = Working pressure (Accumulated flow rate) - Perform another check of the flow rate from the nozzles to check that the quantity delivered corresponds to the flow rate required. ALBUz ATR NozzLES FoR FIXFLo oR VARIFLo NozzLE HoLDERS FIXFLo VARIFLo The FIXFLO and VARIFLO nozzles holders are fitted with ALBUZ ATR nozzles not requiring any seal to be assembled. LAYoUT oF ATR NozzLES The layout of the ATR nozzles is set in the factory in increasing order of flow rate from the lower nozzle holders to the upper nozzle holders. This layout can be reviewed to adapt the distribution of the flow rate to the shape of the trees to be sprayed thereby optimising the coverage. In this case, a general principle is to be adhered to (see figure below): Provide 20 to 25% of the flow rate through the nozzles positioned underneath the shaft of the propeller.  Provide 75 to 80% of the flow rate through the nozzles positioned above the shaft of the propeller.  etc... etc...
