Upper Case Replacement

ESD Precautions are required when working on this LifeBook computer.

Make sure the LifeBook is turned off before beginning this procedure.

1. Turn the LifeBook over and

remove the battery

3. Release the cable by flipping the

latch up.

2. Extract these 3 screws from the

Hard Disk Drive cover and lift it off.

4. Lift the Drive out.

Turn the LifeBook over and 2. Extract these 3 screws from the remove the battery Hard Disk Drive cover and lift it off.
Page 2 5. Extract 11 screws from the lower 6. Extract 2 screws from the rear of case. the LifeBook. 7. Open the LifeBook and lay it flat. 8. Use a plastic pry tool to remove the keyboard upper trim. 9. Lift the top edge of the keyboard 10.
Page 3 13. Turn the Display back and lay it 14. Disconnect 2 Display cables from down. the system board and the 2 antenna cables from the WLAN Card. 15. Extract 2 screws from the Display 16. Lift the Display off the lower hinge.
Page 4 21. Place the ClickPoint buttons 22. Place the upper case and onto the new upper case and connect the ClickPoint button cable secure them with 1 screw. and the speaker cable. 23. Close the external VGA 24. Extract 3 screws from the PCB. connector cover and secure the upper case with 4 screws.
Page 5 29. Turn the Display back and lay it 30. Plug in the cables for the down. keyboard and ClickPoint. 31. Turn the keyboard over and slide 32. Press the keyboard upper trim it into place into place. 33. Close the LifeBook and turn it 34.
Page 6 37. Press the latch down to lock the 38. Replace the Drive cover and cable into place. secure it with 3 screws. 39. Replace the battery.
