System Overview The Venom Commercial Series BCMS (Battery Charging & Management System) allows users to easily and effectively maintain a fleet of batteries. Utilizing a desktop application as an interface to control the charger, data is cached locally and then uploaded to secure cloud storage giving users instant access, via web application, to complete cataloging, reporting and control over an entire fleet of batteries and chargers.

    Venom BCMS to be secured properly. Mounting hardware is required and not included. The Venom BCMS requires six rack unit spaces and at least one rack unit (1.75 inches) must be left open directly above and below each for proper ventilation.

    Wherever possible, keep ventilation piping run lengths to no more than 10 feet by installing the Venom BCMS at the location of an exterior wall. The use of any piping other than 4” should be avoided to keep the system in negative pressure as the ventilation system serves only to evacuate smoke generated during a catastrophic battery event.

    When planning your installation keep in mind that you will need room for the computer that will be used to control your Venom BCMS. You can do this by installing a shelf in the enclosure to hold a desktop computer and monitor or a simple slide out tray can be used to house a laptop computer.

    Continue by connecting a USB A to USB B cable to the USB port located on the back of the Venom BCMS. Once complete, gather the cords and secure them so that they do not interfere with installation of the venting system.

    Pressing the storage button initiates the storage sequence for all populated and configured bays. Batteries will be charged or discharged until their configured target storage voltage is reached. The target storage voltage is set in the battery configuration panel of the Venom BCMS software. Note: Independent control of the bays is possible through the software interface.
