Installing Wall Plate to Metal Stud Walls

Installation to Double Metal Stud Wall (Metal Stud Accessory Kit ACC 215 Required
• Drywall must be 1/2" or thicker, and metal stud must be 24 gauge or thicker.
• Installer must verify that the supporting surface will safely support the combined load of the equipment and all attached
hardware and components.
1 FOR METAL STUD WALLS ONLY: Determine the mounting location of wall plate using the formula in step one. Use
wall plate as a template to mark hole centers on stud centers as shown in Illustration B. Drill two 1/2" (13 mm) dia.
holes through drywall and studs. Insert togglers as shown below...

Pivot end of toggler.

Push into hole.

Rotate toggler clockwise to wedge it against inside
walls of metal stud.

Slide plastic cap forward while pulling back firmly
on ring.

Break off excess.

Align mounting holes of wall plate with
togglers in wall and fasten using two 1/4-20
screws.
