SOHO NETWORK BOXES 3. Installation 3.1 Preparing the SOHO Network Box 1. Determine the mounting location and type of mounting. Choose either in- wall or surface-mount installation. For existing homes, we recommend surface-mount installation. For new construction, we recommend in-wall installation. -

CHAPTER 3: Installation 3. Make sure that the SOHO Network Box is right side up. Align the adjustable mounting tabs with the pilot holes, and start tightening the mounting screws into the pilot holes. The mounting tabs will flex in order to fit the opening while keeping the box square. - Page 15 SOHO NETWORK BOXES Figure 3-3. Surface mounting screw locations. 2. Drill pilot holes for the mounting screws. 3. Make sure that the SOHO Network Box is right side up. Align the mounting holes with the pilot holes, and start tightening the mounting screws into the pilot holes.

CHAPTER 3: Installation 4. Install the door. Do not overtighten. (See Figure 3-5.) Figure 3-5. Installing the door. 3.2.3 T ERMINAL DAPTERS The large, circular openings at the top and bottom of the SOHO Network Box are designed to fit 2" PVC terminal adapters (available at any hardware store). Insert the terminal adapters into the holes from the outside (top or bottom) of the box. -

SOHO NETWORK BOXES 3.2.4 O UTLET OXES The two rectangular knockouts located on the bottom of the SOHO Network Box are designed for power outlet boxes. Some equipment may require AC power; these specially designed knockouts allow you to mount the outlet boxes (not included) without wires running outside the box. -
