Drive to a specialist garage, exercising ap-
propriate caution.
Reduced braking effect
Damp, frozen, salt-affected or corroded brakes can
impair the braking effect.
Clean the brakes by braking several times if traffic
conditions allow it.
When the engine is stopped, the brake booster
does not work
Depress the brake pedal more forcefully.

The parking brake switches off automatically when
starting up.
If automatic switch-off is to be prevented, e.g. when
starting off on a slope, keep the button

✓ Driver's door is closed, in some cases, the driver's
seat belt is also fastened.

Noise when using the parking brake is normal. This is
not a defect.
The 12 volt vehicle battery is discharged, the park-
ing brake cannot be switched off
Connect the 12 volt vehicle battery to a power
source, such as the 12 volt vehicle battery of an-
other vehicle.
