ESPRESSO (SHORT BLACK)
Espresso is a strong concentrated coffee with a layer of foam
on the surface known as" crema" (a layer of brown foam).
Espresso is the basis of all coffee beverages. Its varieties
are obtained by adding different amounts of milk and froth.
Prepare a glass 90 ml espresso cup or a small coffee cup.
Pour in a single espresso (30–35 ml).
LONG BLACK
Standard espresso with the addition of hot water, served in
a regular coffee cup or in a mug. Hot water is added first so
that the layer of "crema" is kept.
Prepare a 190 ml cup.
Pour in a single or double espresso.
Add hot water to taste.
MACCHIATO
Macchiato, the name comes from an Italian word meaning
a "spot". Traditionally served as a standard espresso with
a spoonful of milk on the surface and a little foam ("crema")
in the middle.
Prepare a 90 ml glass espresso cup or a small coffee cup.
Pour in a single or double espresso.
Add a spoonful of milk on the top.
FLAT WHITE
Another favourite coffee beverage is a flat white, a beverage
on the basis of espresso, with steam frothed milk, served in
a regular coffee cup or in a mug. The layer of frothed milk
should be 2 mm thick to insulate the coffee.
