Check the completeness of the delivery against the delivery note. Missing parts or damage must be notified immediately in writing to the carrier, the insurance, or WITTENSTEIN alpha GmbH. Packaging The gearhead is delivered packed in foil and cardboard boxes. -

Assembly Assembly Be informed of the general safety instructions before beginning work. (see Chapter 2.7 "General safety instructions"). Preparations The screws for fastening are not included in the scope of delivery and must be provided by the customer. You may find related information in the individual assembly steps. Pressurized air can damage the gearhead seals. - Page 12 Assembly Ideally perform the motor mounting in vertical direction. If the motor shaft includes a shaft key, remove it. Use a half wedge if recommended by the motor manufacturer. Turn the plug receptacle (A) until the threaded pin (B) may be reached via the mounting bore.

Assembly Mounting the gearhead to a machine Four threaded bores are available in the gear unit housing for bolting it to your machine. Thoroughly clean the output shaft, centering, and fitting surface. The bolts need to be provided by the customer. You can find the prescribed screw sizes and tightening torques in Chapter 9.2 "Details regarding the attachment to a machine", table "Tbl-11". -
