3 FIRST USE

Before using your Keymaze Quechua 100
3.1 Batteries
The product uses two AAA/LR03 batteries. You can use alkaline (1.5V), lithium (1.5V) or rechargeable (NiMH, 1.2V) batteries.
Battery life depends on the quality and type of batteries used. Generally, using alkaline batteries from a reputable brand,
battery life in use is 9 hours. You can of course extend this period by using the energy-saving modes.
Fitting and changing the batteries:
The "crossed-out bin" symbol indicates that this product and the batteries it contains cannot be disposed of
with general household waste. They must be separated and recycled specially. Take the batteries and unusable
electronic products to an authorised collection area for recycling. Recycling your electronic waste in this way will
protect the environment and your health.

3.2 Getting started

Turn the product on by holding the START button down for two seconds (to turn it o , hold the same button down for two
seconds). When using for the rst time of the day, and for more reliable guidance, the product will require you to calibrate
the electronic compass.
To do this now, hold the product horizontally and turn it over slowly until the indicator bar lls totally and the screen
disappears. You usually need to perform two complete turns .

calibration procedure again via the settings menu.
3.3 Detecting the GPS signal

If several disturbance factors combine, acquisition may be very slow and the GPS may even not be
able to x the signal at all, making any use impossible.
