and conditions of use. The key factors for a helmets 'in use' life are exposure to external force, chemicals and
Ultraviolet (UV) radiation. In the event of physical or chemical damage the helmet should be replaced immediately.
When fitted, the 3M™ UVicator™ can help you to identify when to change your helmet as a result of exposure to
UV radiation.
^ The 3M™ UVicator™ and the helmet must be equally exposed to light. The 3M™ UVicator™ disc must
not be covered by stickers or removed from the helmet.
Electrically Insulating Helmets
The double triangle marking on the helmet indicates that the helmet is suitable for live working. The helmet provides
electrical insulation for use in low voltage installations up to a nominal value indicated next to the double triangle
symbol. Helmets approved according to EN50365:2002, class 0, makes them suitable for use in low voltage
installations up to a nominal value of 1000VAC. The electrically insulating helmet cannot be used alone, it is
necessary to use other insulating protective equipment according to the risks involved in the work. The user has to
check that the electrical limits of the helmets correspond to the nominal voltage that it is likely to encounter during
use. Insulating helmets should not be used in situations where there is a risk which could partially reduce its
insulating properties. Ageing, inappropriate cleaning, and use outside of conditions given in this user instruction may
limit the effectiveness of this product. When not in use it is recommended that the helmet should be stored in the
range of 20±15 °C. If the helmet becomes dirty or contaminated, particularly the external surface, it should be
cleaned in accordance with the instructions below.
